The oldest living documented modern human, Thomas Parr, is also the oldest man to have fathered children. His birth and death have been well documented.. he was borne in 1483 during the reign of King Edward IV and died in 1635 at the age of 152 years old near Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. He is buried in the south transcept of Westminister Abbey, in London.
Thomas, who lived in Winnington, was a bachelor for the first 80 years of his life. After he finally married he fathered 2 children, both of which died in infancy. (Before his first wife died, he was reprimanded by the vicar of Alberbury Parish Church for fornication at 105 years old!) At the age of 122 years old, he married Catharine Milton, and fathered more children which lived. After he died his wife is known to have said that Thomas had sexual intercourse with her until he was 140 years old! His oldest living offspring was a Grandson Robert Parr who lived to the ripe old age of 124.
